FBA Compliance: PDF417 | 2D Content
freebarcodetools FBA was created by a UK-based team of Amazon FBA practitioners who got tired of overpriced label software that uploads your product data to third-party servers. Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser — your SKUs, shipment IDs, and barcode data never leave your device.
We built these tools because we needed them ourselves. When you're prepping hundreds of units for FBA, the last thing you want is a slow web app that requires a login, stores your data, and charges per label. So we made it free, fast, and private.

Everything Amazon FBA sellers ask about barcodes, labels, and compliance.
FNSKU stands for Fulfilment Network Stock Keeping Unit. It's an Amazon-assigned barcode that ties a product to your seller account. You need one if you're sending items via FBA and Amazon requires individual item labelling — which applies to most sellers unless you have a manufacturer barcode exemption. Without it, Amazon can't route your inventory to the correct bin.
Yes, completely free. No account to create, no credit card, no usage limits. The tools run entirely in your browser — we don't process your data on any server. Everything happens on your own device.
UPC and EAN are global product barcodes — they identify a product universally. An FNSKU is Amazon-specific and links inventory to your seller account, letting Amazon track your stock separately from other sellers of the same product. See our FNSKU vs UPC vs EAN guide for a full breakdown with decision flow.
A 2D box content label (PDF417 barcode) tells Amazon what's inside a carton before they open it. Since 2024, Amazon increasingly requires these on inbound FBA shipments. Without it, boxes may be opened manually, delaying processing and risking rejection fees. Our 2D Box Content Builder generates them for free.
The most common causes: labels printed at the wrong scale (always use Actual Size / 100%), DPI too low (use 300 DPI minimum), manufacturer barcodes not covered, labels placed over seams, or a missing 2D box content label. Read our full guide: Why Amazon FBA Shipments Get Rejected.
