Even with a perfectly converted PDF, your thermal labels can still come out wrong if the printer or settings aren't configured correctly. These are the issues we see most often from Amazon FBA sellers.
Most thermal printers default to a lower DPI for speed. Check your printer settings and set the resolution to at least 203 DPI for Amazon labels. At 203 DPI, Code-128 barcodes are readable but border on the minimum. At 300 DPI, they scan consistently even in poor lighting conditions at the fulfilment centre.
This applies even after conversion. When printing from a PDF viewer, check that the scale is set to Actual Size or 100%. Some PDF readers default to scaling the content to fill the page, which will distort the barcode dimensions.
Thermal printers use heat to create the image — they require direct thermal label stock (or thermal transfer ribbon and synthetic labels). Using standard paper or inkjet-compatible stock will produce blank or very faint labels and potentially damage the printhead.

Amazon's Seller Central generates A4 PDFs by default, regardless of your printer. It's a longstanding limitation of their system. Printing directly on a thermal printer scales the barcode down to fit the 4×6 media, making it too small to scan reliably — which is why this converter exists.
